Yahoo doesn't have anything to do with your access to our club website, nor is your personal information above tied to Yahoo or our club website. In the future, we may require you to login to our website (but this tool has not been set up yet, nor do we know when we'll do this).

Very Important Note: If you do not have a "Yahoo Profile", please get this now before submitting your personal information to us. If your Yahoo profile is not updated and working, you will not be subscribed as a member of our club. If we check this later and it is not working, we will not subscribe you (or we may unsubscribe you afterwards). One of the problems you will encounter if you are not a Yahoo Groups member first, is a lack of being able to visit our Yahoo Group site at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/helmet-collectors. In other words, you may have this complaint regarding Yahoo: "I'm receiving email from this group, but when I visit the Yahoo group page, it says I'm not recognized as a member". In addition, Yahoo may prevent you from sending and/or receiving our group discussion emails.

As our IHCC rules state, "If you do not have a Yahoo profile, it will be up to the discretion of your Moderator to unsubscribe you."

Try these steps to adjust your Yahoo Profile:

1. Visit our Yahoo group site at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/helmet-collectors
2. Sign in, if you are not already logged in. If you do not have a Yahoo profile set-up, you must do it first (click on the link at the bottom of this email to do this).
3. Click on the link called Account Info (located on your current screen above, near the right corner). You may have to log in again.
4. Select Edit/Create Profiles that is located on the right column.
5. On this next page, you can edit or create new profiles.

In addition, if you do not check your club emails on a regular basis and your emails bounce back to Yahoo, they will put your email address into a "bouncing" list. This will mean that your Moderator will have to clear your bouncing status. Please make sure you let the Moderator know if you're not going to be able to check your club messages regularly so this doesn't happen. If you're going out of town but do not have access to your group emails, please let us know also. Otherwise, your emails from Yahoo may bounce.

In the future, if not are able to access the Yahoo discussion group, here is a possible solution: When you reach this frustrating message, "You are not authorized to access this group", you may not be logged in. If you are logged in, click on the "Help" link on our group's main page. This will take you to a page with a "wizard" link that will automatically set up your access to our group. After that, each time you log in your groups will be listed on the left side of your screen.

As you probably know, we do not have anything to do with the way Yahoo works. It's really up to our individual members to update his/her own profiles and to ensure that your email address works. If your emails get bounced, you will not receive Yahoo group emails. The only thing we can do is to allow your email address to be subscribed to our group when you ask to join.

If you ever need to change your email address, please follow these simple steps:

1. Visit our Yahoo group site: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/helmet-collectors.
2. Sign in, if you are not already logged in. If you do not have a Yahoo profile set-up, you must do it first.
3. Click on the link called "Account Info" (located on your current Yahoo screen above, near the right corner).
4. Under the "Member Information" category, click on the [EDIT] button.
5. Change "Alternate Email 1" email address to your new email address. Make sure everything else is updated as well.
6. Click the [FINISHED] button at the bottom of the page to end this change.
7. Click the [FINISHED] button at the bottom of the page again to exit back to your "groups" page.

Once approved and subscribed, you can start sending messages to our group immediately at:
