Below are profiles of some of our current and past members.
These accounts were taken at the end of 2002.
My name is Geoff Bosley from Kennett Square, PA. I will be 23
next week. I graduated last May with a degree in Finance from
Virginia Tech, but I currently work in the accounting department at
Wyeth Labs. I'm single and moved back into my parents house after
graduation.(can't beat no rent & mom's cooking.) I currently have a
little over 300 minis, all from the NFL and Div 1-A. I need about 8
NFL throwbacks to complete my collection and Middle Tennessee St to
finish off my Div 1-A collection. I'm always looking for Div 1-A
TB’s though. In my spare time I like to be involved with sports
(obviously), hanging out w/ my friends, and I've been fiddling
around w/ real estate a little bit, (maybe a future career). I'm a
die-hard Phillies, Cowboys, and Hokies fan and a somewhat interested
fan of the Flyers & Sixers. I drive a 99 Ford Explorer. I am Rams
fan for the weekend because I can't take any more of this Eagles
talk..Talk to you later

of 100 NFL/NFL TB's and every kind of Nebraska helmet you can think
of (45 of them and they are all different). Other hobbies include

weight lifting. My wife is the health/fitness director at the YMCA.

months; own business with my father importing power transmission

married for almost 6 years. I have two boys, Jacob is 4 and Graeme
is 3 months. I have my own contracting company in Hamilton, Ontario,
Canada. I live approximately a 15 minute walk from Ivor Wynne

passion! My collection of minis include, all the CFL teams, most of
the NFL teams, all the XFL teams (actually those are in the mail
right now) a couple of signed college and CFL minis. I also have
replicas of all the teams I have played for. I also have with those
helmets, several game balls from games I have played in including a
5 touchdown game, my first semi pro touchdown and my first NCAA
carry. I played football for 17 years until my first son was born 4
years ago. I played Minor football, High school, Canadian Junior
league, Canadian University, Canadian Semi pro and NCAA. I never
played pro but have had numerous invitations to do so. I have beside
my collection several framed invitations to camps and such. My
favorite being an invitation to the camp for the LA Extreme in the
now defunct XFL. As you can tell, I LOVE FOOTBALL!

beautiful wife and 2 wonderful boys, ages 2 1/2 and 6 months old. I
am an elementary school principal about 35 miles northwest of
Atlanta. I have been collecting since the early 90's. At one point I
sold most of my minis, but now have over 200. I now only collected
autographed minis with a focus on Heisman Winners and Quartebacks. I
have separate minis autographed by all the living Heisman Winners as
well as a few deceased winners. I enjoy collecting autographs,
Nascar and my family.
Greetings, I am Barry Dowdy. I am 46 and have been married 23
years. My wife and I have a 5-year daughter, who believe it or not,
loves helmets. I am an IT consultant specializing in IT integration
and e-commerce applications. I have about 140 minis, but I have
decided to revert to my roots and collect only full size helmets
(collected my first full size game worn in 1978). I love the minor
leagues-Arena, AF2, WFL, USFL along with Southeast based colleges. I
have a website dedicated to sports media guide and game program
collectors. Also collect sports pocket skeds, tix, brochures, casino
chips and such, brewery items. Like my wife says, I collect
everything but dust.
I
am Marc Francis, married and 34. My wife, Cheryl to whom I've
been married to for 11 years, is very understanding of my addiction
to minis. I have two kids, Ben age 10, and Emmy age 6, who both
think my helmet collection is a bit odd. I am a videotape editor at
Turner Studios, editing commercials and promos for TNT, TBS, Cartoon
Network and the NBA on TNT/TBS. So I live in a sports-deficient
town, Atlanta. I am not a Falcons, Hawks or Braves fan, but I do get
tickets to all of their games from Turner. However, I am a HUGE
Thrashers hockey fan. I am a graduate of Western KY University
(Class of 1990) where I did play linebacker and fullback for one
season before a knee injury. My mini collection is about 80 right
now, mostly NFL current and TB's. I have a handful of NCAA minis and
a full set of WFAL, XFL and NFLE. I love being in the club and love
to know a bit more about all of you.
I
am Bart Freidenberg...age 40...single...Columbus, OH...Ohio
State Grad (1982)...Currently am involved in sports promotion,
mainly as tournament founder/chairman of the Ohio Tournament of
Champions - the largest one day amateur wrestling tournament in the
world (April 27-Columbus, OH-3200 entries). This year our awards
will be custom mini helmets! Also coach middle school wrestling and
travel with a group of all-star wrestlers (ages 12-15 and
representing states from Ohio and east) each summer. This summer
will mark the 20th year. While on tour last summer, we had Don
Perkins, Raymond Berry and Randy Gradishar speak to us. Other
speakers in the past have included: Archie Griffin, William Hanna,
Joseph Barbera, Ronald Reagan, John Wooden, Bart Starr and Peter
Vidmar (only wish I had been collecting minis back in those days). I
have been collecting for about a year now and started when we
raffled some signed ones off at our tournament last year. Have all
Big 10, NFL current and TB's and a large collection of signed ones,
of players from 1978 and before. Also collect all-time QB photos and
have approximately 500, with about 75% of them signed. Also have a
large autograph collection from my younger days (a lot of golfers)
and a lot of items from child stars, as we bring some in each year
for our tournament, to sign autographs for the wrestlers. I
currently drive a 2000 Hyundai Elantra.
Brian Golden, 45, newspaper reporter and sportscaster,
Lancaster Calif. Single (this job is a girlfriend/wifefamily
killer). Penn State graduate, hosted Penn State football network

BIKE); total of about 600. Always have mini's with me when I go to
cover games for my paper; have displayed mini's at Super Bowls, Rose
Bowl, Orange Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, Sun Bowl, Holiday Bowl and Alamo
Bowl. Two years go in Atlanta at Super Bowl XXXIV, I had the Rams,
Titans and Super Bowl XXXIV mini's, and an adjoining Kurt Warner
shrine of the Amsterdam Admirals and Iowa Barnstormers in front of
my spot in the media workroom in the Hyatt Regency, and a couple of
TV stations did interviews about the mini's! See what I mean about
us being blessed to be in the most remarkable hobby there is?
Dan Hart…43yrs. young, not married, 1 daughter yrs. young.
I'm a die cut operator, union president, part time taxidermist (deer
heads). i love bow hunting, fishing, golfing, riding my 1989
softtail, going to all sorts of racing events,(my brother races 360

My name is David Hart. I'm 52 and live in Orlando, Florida. I
have been with Orange County Fire/Rescue for 21 years. In February
and July, my son and I work for the Daytona International Speedway
FD during the races. I have been married to the same great woman for
32 years in May and have 2 sons. My older son works for a large
sprinkler company as a draftsman and my second son is also a
firefighter for OCRFD. It looks like we are keeping fire suppression
in the family. When it comes to collecting helmets, I have a variety
of them. I first started collecting fire helmets in 1987 when I went
to Norway and found my "roots". I have 37 fire helmets from Europe
and the US. One of them is Canadian. I got my first mini in ' 97
when I bought my Dolphins Marino Autographed mini. OK, that gave me
away, I'm a big Dolphins Fan. My mini collection consists of 141 NFL
TBs, 9 proposed NFL logos that did not hit the playing field, 32
current NFL, a full set (31) of NFL 2000 Chrome minis and the 9-11
Memorial. I also have 6 full size Dolphins helmets. To round of the
diversity of my helmet collection is my replica Japanese Samurai
helmet and my Viking helmet. I enjoy fishing and camping (which has
now turned into RVing) and my Granddaughter. My wife thinks I'm
crazy because when I come in the house, I go straight to the
computer (after giving her a kiss of course) to catch up with all
the club E-Mail. I guess that is it for now. I would like to ask you
to please have you and your loved ones were their seat belts. I have
seen too many people die because they weren't. Take care until next
time.
We are Alan (37) & Culise (38) Hill. We have been married for
10 years and have 1 girl and 1 boy. We started collecting autographs
before we got married. We even included 3 extra days in our
honeymoon for autographs at the super show. This is a hobby that we
share and that makes it the most fun (doing the hobby together). We
have more than 300 signed minis (including 15 from the Senior Bowl
this last weekend which was part of our 10 year anniversary). We
started by collecting autographs on 8x10s and Cards, until we found
the SharCo mini helmet. We found these back in 1991-1992 timeframe.
All our unsigned minis are just minis waiting on autographs.
Daniel Jones, 29, Married no kids, US. Marine stationed in
Pittsburgh (I'll be in the color guard for the Game on Sunday, so
everyone look for me on TV), moving to North Carolina in March.
Collecting minis for 2 years. Collect any unique minis I can get my
hands on. Other Hobbies include, art and my drums. Drive a 2001
Mazda Tribute.
Dennis Jones here in West Texas - 47 years old married two
boys both in college. I have a BBA from Angelo State and work in a
medical device mfg. plant. I have over 200 mini helmets and another
200 micro, gumball, pocket pros, ice cream cups etc. I have 75 to
100 decals waiting to go on helmets. Lately I'm collecting Texas
team helmets (college and pro). I have 15 full size helmets five
game-used. My youngest son plays football for Texas A&M (Stacy Jones
#38), he is a Senior next year. Each year they get new helmets, I
have is previous helmets. Also I have both boys high school helmets
(Midland Lee) and mine from college. We attend all the games home
(300 mile one way) and away. That's a full time hobby during
football season. I also collect and customize Starting Lineup now
McFarlane sport figures mainly football. My collection is open along
with the helmets displayed in the spare bedroom. Also I collect
football jersey, I have a set from the Big 12 and 30 other teams. As
you can imagine I have a wonderful loving and understanding wife.
I'm Craig Kondrashoff, 48, born 1953, reborn 1994, live in
Chula Vista CA (near San Diego). Of course the Chargers are my team
through thick and thin, more thin I may say. Married to my high
school sweetheart, Terri for 30 years. I have 3 Daughters Brandy 27,
Kim 25, Tamara 22 and 3 Grandchildren Ray 7, Melanie 4 and Zane 2.
We've lived in Augusta Ga. Hopkinsville Ky. Tacoma WA and Oahu Hi.
All while I was in the Army. Now I work for Farmers Bros. Coffee
company here in San Diego. My collection includes 100 game worn NFL
jerseys, 4 game worn full size helmets and 260 autographed NFL
minis. The minis are representations of the different styles each
team has worn and autographed by someone that wore that style. The
only minis I have duplicate styles are of the Chargers. The
autographs were obtained either in person or through the mail. It's
kinda gets your day going when a player calls and just wants to BS.
My activities at the present time are somewhat limited (rehabbing a
knee) but usually consist of Pop Warner and Little League coach for
my Grandson and of course the Church.
Brian Kuti, 27, Minneapolis. Married 1.5 yr. no kids. Teacher
in a Court Ordered School for non-profit org. Nebraska grad.
Collecting for 2 years. Doing it very slowly. I am always looking
for good deals. Collect Big XII, NU, NU Bowl opponents and teams
from Nebraska, Minnesota, and South Dakota (IFL, NIFL, Arena 2,
Omaha and South Dakota Colleges), as well as colleges of relatives
and friends. I have 15.
My name is Joe Lorenz. I will be 40 years old in a scant few
weeks (02/13-My wife is "allowing" me to go to the Pro Football Hall
of Fame for the first time, with my brother and some friends as a
birthday present). I live in Tonawanda, New York, a suburb north of
Buffalo, New York (I see there are some local boys in this
group-another good thing about your idea Eric. I did not know there
were any, save for one-I am looking forward to getting to know you
guys) As stated above, I am married 12 years to an awesome lady
(Patty) and have two wonderful daughters, Lisa (9) and Jocelyn (5),
who take up all of my time and make me proud to be their daddy. As
for me....I am a Senior Patrol Agent for the US Border Patrol, the
uniformed law enforcement branch of the INS (we patrol the country's
border areas, by automobile, boat, helicopter, planes and foot,
arresting illegal aliens, dope smugglers/people smugglers and just
about any other non law abiding sort-so if you want someone
deported, I'd be the guy to look for!! Lol!) I have been
"patrolling" for 15 years now. My permanent duty station is Niagara
Falls, New York of the Buffalo Sector, but I started in San Ysidro,
CA (Near San Diego, CA - All of us have to start on the Mexican
border) and I finally made it back "home" to Buffalo after a couple
of years, with a wife in tow (She being from San Diego moving to
Buffalo-it must have been love!! Lol) In addition to working in the
Buffalo Sector area of operations for 12 years now, I have been
detailed to damn near every border town on the southwest border,
from Texas to Cal, Miami, Fl and many places in between and up north
in my career. I could tell you a lot, but I'll just say that it is
an interesting job, unlike any other law enforcement job in the
world as we are quasi cop, quasi military, hated by many, loved by
few....but it provides handsomely for my family, pays the bills and
allows me to buy some mini helmets!! In fact, I would love to make a
fantasy US Border Patrol mini helmet, if anyone could help me out,
as I've never made a mini yet. I have been collecting since 97 and
have collected all the NFL Riddell Micro Minis, save for current
Rams, Giants and Texans (If anyone can help-let me know), I have all
of the NFL Pocket Pros save for the same teams just listed, and a
multitude of gumballs of all sorts. I also am the proud owner of a
"9/11 Memorial Mini" (courtesy of Len Dawson) and a Tonawanda High
School Warrior mini, where I played so many years ago (courtesy of
the Stephen Jesse/Andy Ussery college bowl tourney that I lucked out
and won). My interests/hobbies/passions besides my wife and
daughters are weight lifting/running, football of any type-pro,
college, high school, sand lot, the long lost art of DROP KICKING
FOOTBALLS (have you ever done that Scotty B., as you are a kicker?)
football history, military history, esp. WWII, participating in any
sport, coaching any sport and drinking beer! I have a really cool
black and white cat named Bootsy and I drive either an 02 Ford
Escape or a 93 Dodge Caravan. The teams I live and die with are (who
else?) Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Destroyers, Buffalo Sabres, Notre
Dame, St Bonaventure, Tonawanda Warriors and any team my girls are
on. Last but not least, I really enjoy this hobby and this club. If
I can ever help any of you out please don't hesitate.
My name is Gary Lukasik, and it looks like I'm the senior
member of this wonderful group of helmet addicted junkies, unless
there is someone older out there! I'm 55 but really only feel like
I'm 54, married with children 3 boys, two still in college (DePaul
University in Chicago & Western Michigan in Kazoo my eldest
graduated from Michigan State). I grew up in the "Murder City"
following the Detroit Lions, I still follow them but they never take
me anywhere except to a state of depression. Now, my home town is
Portage Michigan. I'm a licensed builder and run a condo
association. Play keyboard in a little weekend band that supports my
"mini habit". I've been in these clubs from the beginning and with
the help of Dave Dech, Steven Jesse, Mike Dascani, Ken Leitiza, Rich
Coe and many members of these groups my collection has grown.
(Actually you can view my collection on both the Minihelmet
Collector and Rich Coe's VHM sight). You know, if it wasn't for the
daggers that shoot out my wife's eye sockets every time a package
arrives on the doorstep this would be the absolute perfect way to
spend my kids inheritance. Tip for the club -- "cut out the bitchin"
- "life's to short". On the whole I've never been involved with any
other type of group that helps one another as much as this one does.
There are a whole bunch of good people in these clubs. Keep up the
great work on the website! I'll be thinking of yoooze while driving
my black 2001 Ford F-150 & listening to my Nsync CD's (yeah, you
read it right Nsync!) Thanks.
John Meadors, 38 years oooold! Married 8 yrs., no kids (5
dogs!). I'm a salesman for a paper company in S. Georgia. Fanatical
FSU fan!! I've only been collecting since Christmas, but I already
have 21 minis! Other hobbies are off-road motorcycling (too old and
injured for mx anymore), tennis, model building, FSU games, and the
occasional Falcons and Jags game. Things to do this year- Get a PS2,
and NFL Sunday ticket!!!!
Dave McQueen here, of Lago Vista, TX, in the hill country
just outside of Austin. 1984 graduate of UT Austin (are there no
other Longhorns fans besides me?). I'm 43, married to Mary for
13-1/2 great years, with 4 stepkids (Amanda, 22; Danielle 21;
Richard 20; Barry 18). One of those families where everyone has a
different last name. My pride and joy is grandson Dylan (almost 3),
who loves (I like to think) mini helmets as much as I do. Both girls
(divorced) live with us, as does Dylan. Barry was 4 when we married,
so I'm experiencing what it's like to have a real little one around
the house. I'm a self-employed accessibility consultant, and provide
plan review and inspection services as required by the State of TX
for handicapped accessibility, so I get to do quite a bit of
travelling around the state, but don't have much time for anything
else, except for travelling, computers, and electronic gizmos (I
bought myself an HP Jornada 567 PDA for Christmas). Mary's retired
from hard labor as a waitress since 1999. I only have 6 mini's right
now, with #7 on the way, including one auto'd by Troy Aikman. I'm
concentrating on Authentic NFL current and TB's for now, and have
learned how to replace replica facemasks with Authentikits.
Eventually I plan to have a full-size Pro-Line collection of pro &
college team favorites, especially from Texas (No A&M Aggies in MY
house!), and auto'd mini's from HOF and favorites, esp. QB's. Why
anyone would care, I don't know, but I drive a 1999 Chevy Malibu
with over 135,000 miles on it. By the way, I replied to Bill
Dalmagro's bio because when I went to UT football games ('77 - '84),
they would always give the football scores of Slippery Rock
University. Pretty wild to have 75,000 - 80,000 people cheering for
SRU at one time! Favorite pro teams are Rams (from my early years in
Southern CA, mid 60's) and Cowboys; I was a big Dolphins fan during
the Don Shula Super Bowl years (70's), but not in the last 20 yrs.
for some reason. I've always been interested in helmets, though,
especially of some teams that I have NEVER liked, like the Patriots
and Redskins (that's pretty strange to me). I really enjoy the club,
and look forward to doing this hobby as time and $$$ permit me. I'm
very active in my church as a deacon and member of the Board of
Trustees. I gave my life to Christ on Super Bowl Sunday, 01/26/86,
and think Kurt Warner is pretty inspirational in his public faith,
even going as far as to inscribe "Matt. 6:33" on a helmet I saw on
eBay. GO RAMS!!!
Hi! Dennis Morrell, Ballwin, Missouri (a suburb of St.
Louis). married over 4 years and our first child expected on St.
Patrick's Day (March 17th for those who are of non-Irish decent).
Work for the Eastman Kodak company as District Manager of their
on-site processing division within Target stores. I collect signed
NFL and AFL minis and have nearly 240 in my collection.
Clay Ratliff…36yrs old. single and live in Burleson, Texas.
Just starting to get into this. Am starting by recreating all of my
old high schools helmets back to 1959. I am a standup comedian. Go
to my website and buy a freakin t-shirt to help support my new
hobby. www.clayratliff.com Am already getting some great pointers
from the club.
My name is Bret Shane. I'm 37 and live in Monticello,
Indiana. I'm married to my high school sweetheart Monica. We have
been married for almost 14 years and together for over 20. We have 3
sons, ages 10, 7, and 4. All 3 are sports nuts like dad and think
mini helmets are the coolest. I'm a maintenance tech for a local
manufacturing company. High school letterman in football,
basketball, and baseball. I played NAIA basketball at Huntington
College in Indiana. I've been collecting mini's for 2 years now. My
collection has about 100 helmets. I collect NFL, NFLE, USFL,
CFL-USA, WFL, WLAF and a few select NCAA. I have a Schutt collection
of the Big Ten, Notre Dame, and Ball State. I also have a collection
of 22 Action racing helmets. The WLAF's are my favorites, even the
wife likes them. I have made mini's of the local high school and my
son's elementary school. My old high school is my next project,
hopefully in time for my 20 year reunion. Even though I love mini's,
being from Indiana, basketball is my life passion. I'm a fan of all
the D-1 teams in Indiana. Indiana, Purdue, Notre Dame, Ball State,
Butler, Evansville, Indiana State. The whole family is Indiana Pacer
crazy. We make a couple visits to Conseco Fieldhouse each year. I'd
just like to thank you all for making me the passionate mini helmet
collector I am today. I can talk Joe Public's ear off about this
hobby. This is because of all of you who have helped me learn so
much about this hobby.
My name is Chuck Smith and I am 51 years old. My wife, Teddie,
and I have been married for 25 years and have two daughters, ages 21
and 17. I graduated from Va. Tech way back in 1973, majoring in
having a great time and getting a degree (actually History and Pol
Sci). I am a native Virginian but I presently live in southwestern
Pennsylvania (near Uniontown). I have worked for the National Park
Service for 27 years but I am presently on loan to the State of
Pennsylvania as the site administrator of two historical sites, Fort
Pitt Museum (in downtown Pittsburgh) and Bushy Run Battlefield
(Pontiac's Rebellion). I started collecting mini helmets about 2
years ago with the main part of my collection being NCAA Division
I-A and NFL HOF autographed. I have really appreciated the contacts
I have made in the club and although I have collected a few decals I
am still a virgin when it come to making my first helmet (I am
waiting for that special helmet!). As far as hobbies I enjoy trying
to survive in a house with three women (we actually got a male cat
but they had him fixed so I know to be careful), I am sort of a
Civil War nut, and I collect lapel pins. I usually drive my '84
Toyota. And last but not least Go Steelers!!
My name is Andrew Stelmach and I am 33 years of age and have
been married for 3 years with a 10-week old daughter. I live in
Hamilton Ontario Canada and I work as an IT hardware and software
support technician for Long Manufacturing. I have been collecting
helmets for about 5 years (my wife got me started on it, so I have
her to blame). I have 90 helmets (CFL, NFL, XFL, USFL), a mixture
between authentic and replica. I drive a 2000 Mercury Cougar.
Charlton Wills, 37 years old, Married to Julie for seven
years, no kids yet, but we hope to adopt this year. I live in Round
Lake, IL., but originally from Chillicothe, OH. My wife and I both
graduated from Ohio State, and are fanatical Buckeyes. I am VP of
sales for Wyvern Aviation, which does safety auditing of the Private
Aviation industry. We work with corporations and charter companies
who fly a wide variety of corporate jets and helicopters. I collect
college minis, I have around 200 now from all divisions. I am pretty
much done with D1, and am concentrating on D2 and D3. I enjoy
creating and buying decal projects. I am currently trying to get
helmets (as of 3/03) of all colleges in Ohio who play any division
of football. I have them all except four. I have a Cocker Spaniel
and a very large cat. I drive a Chevy Tahoe and an Audi A4.
